Alfredo Guardado, Beacon Director at Bessie Carmichael Beacon Community School

Alfredo "Fredo" Guardado - born and raised in San Francisco - has spent his professional career dedicated to enriching the communities he grew up in. Fredo joins us from the Urban Services YMCA where he spent last 5 years delivering high quality services to 4 of San Francisco's public High Schools. He's thrilled to take on the role of Bessie Carmichael/FEC Beacon Director and contribute to the larger SOMA community. Here are some appreciations from his Director and the San Francisco Beacon Initiative:

"Alfredo has hit the ground running as the Bessie Carmichael/FEC Beacon Director. He’s taken on an enormous challenge this year and leads with patience, humility, and humor!" - Betty Sells-Asberry, Senior Director of Community Engagement

"Alfredo's easy smile and eagerness to learn makes him a wonderful addition to the Beacon family. He has deep, home-grown, youth development knowledge - first as participant, then working in programs, and now as a Beacon Director." - Carol Hill, Executive Director of SFBI
