Annie Ma, Beacon Director of Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center
Annie joined the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center Team in the fall of 2007. Before becoming the Beacon Director at A.P. Giannini Middle School, Annie was the Site Coordinator at A.P. Giannini and Francis Scott Key Elementary’s After School Program. Prior to that, Annie worked at Edgewood Center for Children and Families after graduating from SFSU with a BA in Psychology. Annie worked to help clients gain day-to-day skills and become successful as a young person and member of society. Annie currently resides in the Sunset Community, where she works and grew up. She was born in Vietnam and, at the age of 2, her family immigrated to the U.S. to chase the “American Dream”. Annie is passionate about working with kids and families in all capacities, and recognizes the importance of a shared community and providing opportunities and resources in order for families and individuals to thrive.Here are some special appreciations from her Director, Principal, and the San Francisco Beacon Initiative:
