Beacon Way Day 2017: Know What You Stand For!
SFBI and the Beacon Bridge Committee hosted the 4th Beacon Way Day conference. The goal of Beacon Way Day is to bring the San Francisco Beacon community together for a day of solidarity and self-empowerment, creating a space for individuals in the Beacon community to lift up and learn from diverse voices and best practice from around the city. This conference brings Beacon staff together in the current political, social, and cultural climate to investigate how to stand for our communities, our careers, and our commitments as allies of youth and families.
Approximately 120 participants were in attendance representing from the 9 Beacon Centers across the city. Although we were in a power outage for the entire day of the conference, the event was still a success and peer-to-peer learning and community building proceeded.
