Amelia Rudberg, Beacon Director at Marina Beacon Community School

Amelia grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota and attended Grinnell College in Iowa, where she majored in Sociology and Environmental Studies. After college Amelia provided case management for homeless adults in Berkeley and San Francisco's Tenderloin Neighborhood for about four years, then transitioned into a support services management role with Tenderloin Housing Clinic. In 2016, Amelia started a graduate program in Social Welfare, with a concentration in management and planning, at UC Berkeley. While at Berkeley, she focused on school-based youth program development, working with Aspire Public Schools, The UC Berkeley Public Service Center, and The Alameda County Center for Healthy Schools and Communities. Amelia graduated with her MSW degree in May, 2018 and joined the Presidio YMCA in June. She is excited to develop great programs for Marina students along with her fantastic Marina Beacon team!Here are some appreciations from her Director, and the San Francisco Beacon Initiative:
